Once completed, you will be issued a DL196 CBT certificate which will be valid for 2 years, when it will need to be renewed if you haven’t gone on to pass your full motorcycle licence.

You do not need any previous experience to book a CBT course, however if you would like to have a pre CBT taster session prior to booking then please do so as this will undoubtably help you and give you greater enjoyment on the day.

We understand that this first step into motorcycling can appear daunting for some. If you are at all nervous or anxious about this then please do contact us prior to booking and we will try to help you steer through this as easily as we can. We can, for example, organise female only courses.

In order to order to book a CBT course you must have and bring with you, either your UK provisional driving licence (this can be applied for up to 3 months before your 16 birthday) or your full car driving licence. You will also need to be able to read a car number plate from 20 meters, have a good understanding of the Highway code (eg, basic road signs, traffic lights, rights of way on roundabouts etc) and be able to understand spoken English (this is for your safety). Please also wear a minimum of unripped jeans. Trainers are acceptable, avoid steel toecap boots as these may hinder the ‘feel’ of the foot controls on geared bikes. If you have your own helmet and motorcycle clothing then please bring them with you.
